It all started in the Greenwich Village area of New York in 1972. Childhood friends Leonard Marsh, Hyman Golden and Arnold Greenburg saw more potential in fruit than just something to throw in the lunchroom. They began selling pure fruit drinks to health food stores, commencing the birth of Snapple beverages under the Unadulterated Food Corporation.
Fast forward to the land of putting baby in the corner, hair bands and acid-washed jeans. We're talking 1987, my friends. That's when Snapple* teas were born. Snapple* Lemon Tea was the first. The godfather of Snapple* teas. But now, Snapple* produces about 70 flavours of juice, lemonades and teas, all "Made from the best stuff on Earth*." You can pick up a bottle of Snapple* in every state in the U.S., as well as in 80 countries around the world.
Snapple* was sold to Triarc Companies in 1997. Snapple* Beverage Group was purchased by London-based Cadbury Schweppes, from Triarc Companies, Inc. in October 2000.
Snapple* continues to innovate in Canada, with a focus around health. Every bottle of Snapple* Tea is made with the goodness of green and black tea, real sugar, filtered water and natural flavours. This year in Canada, look for a sleek new bottle, updated graphics and a better tasting formula that really shows that Snapple* is made from the best stuff on earth!
